All Used Up | Empties #4

I don't know about you, but I always feel a little too proud of myself whenever I manage to finish a product up. I've acquired such a pile of all kinds of beauty products over time that using one of them up completely actually feels like somewhat of accomplishment.

I've realized that I haven't posted about my empties ever since all the way back in September, so now that I had a fair few of them collecting dust in my drawer, I decided it was finally time to talk about them on here!

Marc Jacobs 'Daisy Dream' EdT (89€)

I've lusted after this parfume for such a long time before my Mom got for me last May, and I managed to wear it almost every day until late January.
This is easily my favorite perfume ever and it has become my signature scent - I've had several people tell me that they think of me whenever they smell it. It's a very unique scent as it's both fruity and floral at the same time - some of the main notes include blackberry, wysteria, pear and jasmine.
What I really liked about it that it isn't heavy overpowering, but being a lighter scent this sadly didn't stick around for as long as I would've liked it to - after two to three hours, most of it will have disappeared.

Would I repurchase?

I've received three different perfumes for Christmas, so I feel like splurging out on this one would be a waste of money at the moment because it isn't exactly the most affordable one out there.
However, I did love this perfume more than any other I've ever owned, so once I've used up all the ones lingering around on my dressing table, I will definitely repurchase it.

Rimmel 'Stay Matte' Powder  in 'Translucent' (5,30€)

Hitting pan in a pressed powder is always an achievement in itself, but I basically licked this powder clean, that's how much I liked it - I even wrote an entire review on it, which you can find here.
Having a rather oily T-Zone, this helped me keep my foundation from sliding down my face throughout the day - without making it go cakey or making me look like I got chalk all over my face, even though I'm using the lightest shade of it.

Would I repurchase?

I already have! I'm not using it as much at the moment as my skin is not as oily throughout the colder seasons, but once it gets warmer, this will become a staple in my make up routine again!

Garnier Micellar Water (4,90€)

This one's a familiar face to my empties series, basically because I go through this stuff at high-speed.
I used to take off my make up with make up wipes before I discovered this product, but they would always break me out - no more of that now!
I've been using this for over a year now, and it has never caused any irritations, it's very gentle on the skin and works very well so you don't have to drag the cotton pads you use it with over your face.
What's also nice is that they do an extra version for acne prone skin, which is the one I'm using.

Would I repurchase?

As I already mentioned, this is my holy grail when it comes to removing my make up - I would never use anything else! I already have reserves of it waiting in my bathroom cupboards.

Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' Foundation (12€)

Much like Garnier's Micellar Water, this foundation is a firm favorite of mine.
For one, it's one of the very few foundations on the market, and quite possibly the only drugstore one, to match my pale skin tone - bless Rimmel for catering for us pale people, I'll never have to look orange again.
And on top of that, its formula is amazing as well. It's so lightweight that you don't even feel like you're wearing anything on your face at all, and its dewy finish is just the right 'pick-me-up' for when my skin's looking dull, which is most of the time.

Would I repurchase?

Now, this is where I thought I'd be all adventurous and broaden my foundation horizonts, so I opted for Rimmel's 'Match Perfection' foundation instead of repurchasing this one, but joke's on me, because it made me break out real bad.
So, judging by the fact that I'm not too keen on any more allergic reactions, I just placed my order for my good ol' friend Wake Me Up a few hours ago.

Blistex 'Classic' Lip Balm (1,29€)

This lip balm is actually one of those products that I would've never gotten myself because I simply overlook them while shopping, but my Mom uses a lot. So when she gave it to me because I had forgotten my lip balm at home one day, I liked it so much that I accidentally kept it. Sorry Mom, I'm literally the Bermuda Triangle where all of your stuff ends up.
This bad boy is great because it keeps my lips soft for hours, which is quite the challenge, and on top of that, it has a really lovely, light smell.
And then there's the fact that it costs just a little more than one Euro, which is nuts if you ask me.

Would I repurchase?

Not at the moment, because I'm currently using Blistex's lip relief cream as my lips are being very problematic at the moment - I mentioned that one in my February favorites, it's amazing as well!

All Used Up | Empties #3

If there's one good thing that comes with putting yourself on a spending ban, except for the saving money part, of course, is that you get to finally give some love to the stuff you already own and hopefully use some of it up.

And as so, ever since my last empties post all the way back in July, I tried to stay low on the spending side of things and devoted myself to finishing up all those products that were lurking on my dressing table and in my drawers, which led to quite some used up products pilling up in yet another dresser.
No, that's not trash, Mom. I need that for my blog.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation (12€)

Just in case you didn't know, because I mean, it's not like I talk about it all the freaking time, this foundation was an absolute game-changer for me, as Rimmel offers it in the shade 'Light Porcelain' - the first ever shade of a foundation to match my insanely pale skin.
I enjoyed every drop of this foundation. It's so lightweight that you could think that you're not wearing anything on your face at all. It also made my skin look really glowy and gave it a lit-from-within look, which makes it ideal for the colder season when my skin will probably seem a little dull.

Would I repurchase?

I already have! I loved the foundation so much that I immediately went and repurchased it once I was about to run out of my first one, but I haven't gotten to use it much as I tanned quite a lot soon after and it now is a tad too light for me.


The Body Shop Body Sorbet in 'Pink Grapefruit' (13€)

I used this product so much this summer that I knew I would use it up more sooner than later, but I was still upset when I did. I'm not joking.
The smell of this is absolutely gorgeous, it does smell very much like grapefruit and the smell lingers for a while after you've used it, which I love. It also sinks into the skin really fast, which is great for people like me who have no patience whatsoever. And it made my legs feel heavenly soft. It was really worth every single penny I paid for it.

Would I repurchase?

Even though I loved this body sorbet to bits, I want to try and use some of the other body lotions/milks I have hidden in my bathroom before I buy anything else.
But once I will have run out of all of those, I actually might.


John Frieda Frizz Ease Beyond Smooth Shampoo (8,99€ for the full size)

This travelled sized version of John Frida's Frizz Ease shampoo was actually given to me for free when I purchased said shampoo, and it was ideal for all the travelling I did in August!
The shampoo promises to rid your hair of any frizz and strenghten its structure more and more with every wash, and I definitely stand by that. It improved my hair's horrible condition so much!

Would I repurchase?

I will definitely repurchase the full sized product once I use it up, but the travel sized one might be something that I'll keep in mind for next summer, for when I'm on the move a lot and need a compact product that will still do the job.


Davidoff Cool Water Woman 'Happy Summer' Perfume

When I was rumaging through my perfumes, looking for one that I could take on vacation with me, and I stumbled upon this one, which is actually a hand-me-down from my Mom, who years ago decided to give it to me as she wasn't really using it.
This is probably the most summery perfume that I own! It smells really fruity and tropical - like mangoes and apples, mhhh.
The scent lasted for quite a while, especially considering that it's more of a soft perfume.

Would I repurchase?

As this is a limited edition perfume from back in 2007 (holy hell how long has this been hiding at the back of my drawer), it obviously isn't available anymore.
I don't think I would repurchase it anyway because I usually like to try new perfumes once I used up my old ones.

All Used Up | Empties #2

It's been a while since my last empties post, hasn't it? Ever since then, I've been trying to use up as many products as possible - which I haven't gotten any better at, to be honest - and as a fair share of them has been pilling up in my drawer over the weeks, I decided it's finaly time time to share them with you again!

(the Lush face mask is missing, as my Mom accidentally threw it away when I stayed with them this weekend. She's not taking this entire bloggint thing too seriously, is she.)

Garnier Micellar Water (4,95€)

Before I discovered this product, I had always used face wipes to take off my make up. I know, I know, that was really bad, and probably one of the reasons why I was constantly having breakouts.

This, on the other hand, is a small miracle for me. Without applying too much pressure, it takes of my entire make up, including waterproof eyeliner and mascara. 

It leaves my skin feeling super clean and fresh, without irritating it r causing any breakouts - this is what dreams are made of, ladies and gents.

Would I repurchase?

I already have! I'm halfway through my new bottle of this, and I will probably never buy any other make up remover ever again.

Lush Cupcake Fake Mask (10,45€)

I've spoken about this product before in an in-depth review, and I still love it as much as I did back then.
This masks ingredients include rhassoul mud, linseed infusion,Organic Cocoa Powder and Mint, all of which are supposed to rid your pores of all the dirt and give you a deep cleanse, while also battling breakouts and oily skin.
Obviously, this didn't rid me of all my spots, but it did make them less obvious or smaller ones dissapear. It also left my skin incredibly soft and smelling of cocoa and mint, which is heaven. Obvs.

Would I repurchase?

While I loved this, I have also heard a lot of great things about Lush's other face masks, especially their Mask of Magnaminty, so I would rather check that one out before repurchasing this one again. But I might come back to this one day, because it really was lovely.

Christina Aguilera Eau de Parfum

I cannot remember when I got this parfum for the life of me, I think it must've been a present from my parents for my birthday a few years back when a friend of mine owned it and I needed to have it. Really badly.

Just like i do with about every single perfum I own, I loved this dearly when I got it and wore it every single day without fail, but when I discovered a new perfum this was left on my dressing table, forgotten a few months later.

I recently picked this up again and fell for it like I did when I first got it. It's a bit of a stronger scent - oriental, a little flowery and pretty sexy. It doesn't wear of throughout the day, which is amazing for a budget friendly perfume.

Would I repurchase?

To be honest, I hardly ever repurchase perfumes, simply because by the time I'm finished with one, there are four more waiting to be used up. I might look into the other Christina Aguilera scents, though.

LR Colour's Carbon-Black Eyeliner (13,95€)

This bad boys falls into the category "may not have been loved widely, but has been loved deeply".

Before my uncle got this eyeliner for me last summer, I had never heard of the company it was from, but I soon discovered that they're doing some really high quality products.

This eyeliner lasted insanely long before drying out. I started using it sometime in fall, and it asted me 'til this spring. That's longer than most high school relationships, just sayin'.

Because of the thin felt tip, it was really easy to apply and came out inky black.

Would I repurchase?

This actually got replaced by my Maybelline 36h gel linerm which is even better than the LR one.
So no, sorry buddy, I'm totally over you. Mostly.

Is it normal that I feel like accomplished something great by using all of the mentioned products up? Or is that just the shopaholic in me?

Either way, I will definitely continue to collect my empty products to share them with y'all!

All Used Up | Empties #1

I will admit it, I'm the absolute worst at using up products. I will purchase something, use it constantly for a certain amount of time, only to fall for something else after a while and completely forget it.

Seeing as my beauty and skin care products were literally pilling up in my drawers, I decided to set an end to purchasing new. fairly unnecessary stuff and finally get around to using up everything else.

I kept all my empties in an unused make up bag so once I had built a little collection, I could share it with you guys!

Avon Care Revitalising Moisture Hand Cream in Cocoa Butter (5€)

I've got extremely dry hands and finding a hand cream that leaves my hands feeling moisturized for longer than ten minutes is anything but easy.

These work wonders on my hands, though!
As you apply this hand cream, it gives off a strong, but not too sweat scent of cocoa, which equals heaven to me.
It leaves my hands moisturized for more than an hour, which is more than I could've ever asked for.

Would I repurchase?

I already have! I'm on my third tube of these already, and it'll take a miracle hand cream to stop me from using them.

Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme! Mascara (9,99€)

This was one of there first mascaras that I totally fell in love with - my fierce love for it shows at how much the writing on this has rubbed off. It looks absolutely ancient, but I swear it's not.

It lenghtend my lashes and added a lot of volume to them, and I experienced next to no fallout with it, even though I didn't own the waterproof version.

Would I repurchase?

As much as I enjoyed my love affair with this gem, I have at least five other mascaras hiding in my drawers, waiting to be used - and I really don't want those to dry out or go bad (yuck). 

Maybe, one day, if ever get around finishing those.

Eucerin AtopiControl Face Care Cream (19,25€)

Originally developed for patients diagnosed with atopic eczema, this cream is perfect for dry and irritated skin, it strenghtens the skin structure and restores its barrier function.

I have combination skin, which means that up to now, skincare has always confused me a little.

Now that the winter months have left my skin dry and damaged and pollen are taking their turn on tormenting me, this has been my absolute savior.
I use this as a day creme and it keeps my skin hydrated throughout the entire day.

Would I repurchase?

I have been using this for the past two year, so as soon as I noticed that I was soon to run out of it, I immediately went and stocked up on it.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss (2,45€)

This was the first product of the Baby Lips range I owned, and it lasted me a damn long time.

This has been my go-to lip balm, I never went anywhere without it as it kept my lips moisturized and soft for far over an hour.

'Peach Kiss' is one of the Baby Lips that gives of a stain, this one in particular is extremely light so it's almost unnoticeable - which is great if you're going for a natural look or you're not allowed to wear make up at school!

Would I repurchase?

Not in the near future, I own two more of the Baby Lips, one of the original range and one of the electro one, and as I mentioned, these last absolute ages, so I'm not gonna need a new lip balm for a while.

Nivea Anti-Transpirant Satin Sensation Deodorant (2,50€)

Deodorant! I know, how exciting! But believe it or not, nearly all of us use it, so I might as well share this one with you lot because it's actually pretty neat.

To be honest, I've got no clue where I picked this travel sized version up, but it got me hooked instantly!

This deodorant leaves your skin with a slightly satiny feeling, doesn't show up on clothing - thank god, nothing more embarassing than that - while also giving off a light, refreshing scent. It's all things I look for in a deodorant in a bottle.

Would I repurchase?

I did acutally purchase the original size of this and I'm about to run out. Ooops.
I might purchase another one of these, but I like switching up my deodorants from time to time so we'll see about that.

Looking at this now, I feel really good about using all of those products up - I literally sound like a shopaholic in therapy.

I will definitelly continue collecting all my empties so I can keep you updated on how this little "experiment" of mine goes!
