One Sensational Mascara | Beauty

Something that you need to know about me is that I don't have eyelashes, I have stumps, and that's it.
Usually, I need a fair share of mascara so they appear to be the lenght of an average person's eyelashes, which you can imagine I'm insanely thrilled about.

Now, I had been debating whether or not it was a good idea to spend a lot of money on a high end mascara, which might end up not doing what it promises, when I saw that Maybelline's Lash Sensational Mascara was on sale in my local drugstore.
It being one of the most raved about products this year and all, I decided to see for myself if it could live up to all the hype.

As you can see, the wand features a fan-like head with a set of shorter bristles on one side and longer ones on the other. While applying, you use the inner curve to reach the roots of your lashes, then use longer bristles to comb through them, spreading them out in the process.

The wand appears to pick up way too much product, so I usually try to get of any excess product before application. If you still encounter clumpy lashes, combing through them with the longer bristles should take care of the problem.

While I didn't experience any fallout, the mascara's formular is quite wet, which means that I have to be careful to not bat my lashes for a minute or two after application in order for it to not smudge under my eyes.

Besides that, though, it stays in place wonderfully throughout the day without smudging or my lashes getting all stiff and crunchy.

The effect that this mascara has on my lashes is incredible! With just one coat, my lashes more than double in lenght.
While it does add a little bit of volume, this product is just not as great volume wise compared to lenght wise.

So, in conclusion, the Lash Sensational mascara really does do wonders for people who are looking for some extreme lenght and long, uncomplicated weartime, but if you're someone who has naturally long lashes and wants to add a little more volume to them, his might not be the one you're looking for.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

This post was supposed to go up on Friday. Oops, I know.
But as I've been feeling pretty ill over the last week, I took some time off from my blog, or the internet in general - I'm feeling a bit better now, though, so I'm back in time for my Sunday post!

Nevertheless, I picked up quite a few Maybelline products over the past few weeks, including their Great Lash mascara in 'The Blackest Black' , which was 4€ - let's be real, it was the bargain price tag on this one that caught my eye.

I've heard some people rave about using this gem on their lower lashes, so I decided to give it a go.

Now, I'm generally a fan of Maybelline mascaras, I've been using the Colossal Go Extreme for more than a year on and off.

This one I was more sceptical about - what put me off it at first was its wand.

I usually don't mind using plastic wands, but I found this one to be rather small - most of the time it was quite difficult to grab all of my lashes with it.

Despite that, the results were actually pretty neat. As you can tell by my left I, I naturally have very short lashes. Within two coats, the Great lash mascara doubled their lenght and made them look darker, adding a tiny bit of a curl to them.
It didn't make my lashes get clumpy, which also is a plus.

Throughout the day, the mascara didn't smudge at all.
I wore it while working out and when I was out and about on a rainy day, and it stayed in place, perfectly.

Verdict:

If you are looking for intense volume, this might probably not be the mascara for you.
But if you, like me, want to add some lenght and a slight curl to your lashes, I would definitely give this one a go - especially because its staying power is insane.
